First visit of the Japanese ambassador to the minister

Nastupni posjet japanskog veleposlanika.jpg Minister of Justice of the Republic of Croatia Mr Orsat Miljenić was visited by the Japanese ambassador H. E. Masaru Tsuji on 21 May 2012.

Successful and friendly relationship between the two countries is confirmed and the Japanese ambassador once more pointed out his gratitude for Croatian support last year when an earthquake and a tsunami struck Japan.

Key topics at the meeting were the possibility of improvement of economic cooperation between Croatia and Japan, Croatia's future membership in the EU, Chapter 23 and the judiciary reform in the Republic of Croatia.

Mr Tsuji emphasized that Croatia's future membership in the European Union and implementation of judicial reforms, in particular fight against corruption, was of key importance for establishment of a good investment climate necessary for bilateral economic relations between the Republic of Croatia and Japan.
